Gill is one of three Scottish girls picked for Great Britain to play in the European Championships being held in the Ukraine later this year. Gill born in Dundee starting playing for the Dundee Royals in 1986 before moving south of the border to work for a well known motoring organization. She is quoted as being able to catch anything other than a cold. A hard worker training at least 4 times a week, with her own team, one of the senior import teams and the 3rd division team at Basingstoke, she is looking forward to facing the strong talented players from Canada and has been preparing especially for the Blasters from the point. Gill was the first woman to be selected by a mens senior team, the Guildford Flames 1993/1994. She dressed for 5 games, but before she got any ice time the B.I.H.A. who is the governing body of Ice Hockey in the UK said that a woman is not allowed to play at the senior levels. The ruling states that no female can play for a mens senior team once they are over 16, however an under 16 can playas they are covered by junior development. (HUH?) However to this day Gill still trains with the senior team. Gill will be playing for Team Great Britain at the European B Women's Championship in Denmark (March 1995).
