An article by Brian R. Johnston: "SHOOTING STARS" Far More Than Just A Hockey School

Our commitment to you...

Tara and Donnie offer a dynamic combination of leadership. Both Tara and Donnie have superior hockey skills, excellent leadership, unique motivational skills, and an extensive knowledge of the game of hockey. With a combined 60 years of playing, instructing and coaching experience, you are sure to get the most out of our programs!

Our programs have been developed by Tara and Donnie and are constantly improving. Both Tara and Donnie have several years of teaching experience in a variety of settings including hockey schools, community youth programs, policing programs and college.

Tara is a former Police Officer, College teacher and currently a Certified Kinesiologist and Certified Exercise Physiologist. Donnie is a two time champion as the Head Coach of the Brampton Canadette-Thunder or the CWHL (formerly NWHL), the Director of Arts, Culture & Recreation for the City of Brampton and a part-time teacher at Humber College.

Tara and Donnie work hard to ensure they offer the highest level of hockey instruction with their impressive roster of instructors. All lead instructors have a minimum level of National Women's Hockey League experience or NCAA and most have experience playing internationally.

All of our camps have featured high profile Olympic hockey players and motivational speakers.

Our week long camps focus on individual skill development. We focus on repetition of the skill to ensure motor learning, muscle memory and physical development. We make sure the players understand why they are performing all skills/ drills so they can continue to practice them and put them to use in a game environment after they leave our camps. All drills are oriented toward age and skill level.

Our development programs and team clinics offer a tailored approach to individual skill development and flow drills to improve team and tactical play.

Please go to our development page for a description of the skill sets we focus on.
