Florida Panthers Hockey Schools Summer 2004 Sessions SUNRISE - Regardless of a child's age or ability, there is something for everyone at the Florida Panthers Hockey Schools. Our goal is to provide the serious youth hockey player, at all levels from beginner to elite, with a meaningful learning experience in a fun and positive atmosphere. Florida Panthers Hockey Schools daily highlights: Appearance by a Florida Panthers player (**Players subject to change without notice) Complete on-ice and off-ice education and training Low player to instructor ratio 1.5 - 3 hours of on-ice instruction (varies by school) Development through progressive teaching methods We have expanded the range of schools offered to fit the needs of individual students, not only by age, but by ability as well. This year we will be offering the following five hockey schools (camp times subject to change). 1. Offensive/Defensive School featuring LW Darcy Hordichuk 2. Girls Hockey School featuring Tricia Dunn & Katie King of U.S. Women's National Team 3. NHL All-Star Roberto Luongo's Goalie School 4. Fundamental Hockey School 5. Future Stars Hockey School featuring C Stephen Weiss Required Equipment Registration & Payment Places to Stay 2003 School Results & Pictures -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2004 Schools Offensive/Defensive Hockey School featuring LW Darcy Hordichuk July 12-16, 2004 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Ages 11 - 15 Cost: $450 Goalie spots available at reduced rate, call for more information. This school is open to experienced players only. Offensive/Defensive Hockey School is designed to reinforce and teach the skills and tactical play necessary to improve "game play" by focusing on individual and small team tactics. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Girls Hockey School featuring Tricia Dunn and Katie King of the Women's USA National Team July 12-16, 2004 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Ages 8-17 Cost: $425 Goalie spots available at reduced rate, call for more information. This school is open to all levels of players. The progressive nature of this course will reinforce fundamentals, while opening the doors to learn more advanced skills. Areas that will be covered during the session include, but are not limited to: Positional play Power play Penalty kill Fore-checking Back-checking Controlled scrimmages Puck handling Passing Shooting -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NHL All-Star Roberto Luongo's Goalie School July 19-23, 2004 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Ages 7-17 Cost: $475 This school is open to goalies of all levels of ability and styles of goaltending. NHL All-Star Roberto Luongo will be on hand daily to assist with on-ice instruction. The following are some of the areas that will be covered: Stance and recovery Net awareness Rebounds/angles Two-pad stack Five-hole Poke/sweep check Butterfly moves Game situations Stick saves Skate save Blocker techniques Glove techniques Trapping -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fundamental Hockey School July 26-30, 2004 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Ages 7-16 Cost: $450 Goalie spots available at reduced rate, call for more information. This school is open to all beginner and intermediate players. The Fundamental Hockey School is designed for new ice hockey players, in-line hockey players who have limited experience on the ice, or intermediate ice level players. This school will benefit any hockey player looking to take his or her hockey skills to a higher level! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Future Stars School featuring C Stephen Weiss July 26 - 30, 2004 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. Ages 4-7 Cost: $150 This school is a tremendous opportunity for young skaters and hockey players to enjoy and learn the fundamentals of skating and handling the puck. In past Florida Panther Hockey Schools, Stanley C. Panther takes a break from his busy summer schedule to meet our Future Star hockey players.
