NEWS RELEASE Ultimate Edge 1998 Hockey School FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 30, 1998 Andria Hunter, Designer of Canadian Women's Hockey Web Page Site and National Hockey Team Player Featured At Windsor Hockey School The Ultimate Edge 1998 Hockey School, under the direction of Dave Mathewson, begins Monday, August 3, 1998 and runs till Friday, August 7, 1998 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at South Windsor Arena. This year's high calibre hockey school instructors include Andria Hunter. Hunter is the Canadian Women's Hockey Web Page Designer as well as a gold medalist who played on the 1992 and 1994 winning Canadian Women's National Hockey Team at the Women's World Hockey Championships. About The Web Site: From Peterborough, Ontario, Andria Hunter who is an avid promoter of women's hockey and a role model, has a BSc in Computer Science from the University of New Hampshire and an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Toronto. She currently works for the University of Toronto in the area of Internet site consulting. Known for her speeches, interviews and appearances at charity and promotional events, Hunter has established a network of contacts from around the world that continuously provide new information that enable her to keep the women's hockey page up to date. The women's hockey web site has been positively reviewed by numerous Internet sites, magazines and newspapers, including the Toronto Star, the Globe and Mail, the Hockey News, Chatelaine Online, Yahoo, Magellan, Interactive Nest Egg, Women's Web InfoNet, netSports, Hockey Life Online, Women's Hockey magazine, Hockey Trades, the Inline Hockey News and Free Wheelin'. The site is already included in almost every hockey index on the world wide web, including Yahoo, the Canadian Hockey Association, U.S. College Hockey Online and Online Hockey Central to name only a few. She has also designed the web pages for the Canadian In-Line and Roller Skating Association (CIRSA). The web site currently contains over 750 pages and numerous graphic files. Hockey Credits: In addition to her role as a member of the World Championship Canadian Women's Ice Hockey team, Hunter has also played hockey for the University of New Hampshire on a women's hockey scholarship (winning 2 ECAC championships), and for the University of Toronto (winning 4 OWIAA championships). She spent one season in Switzerland where she played for the Swiss Women's National A League where she led the league in scoring with 59 goals and 28 assists in 20 games. She placed third overall in scoring for the 1992 Women's World Championship, scoring 3 points in the gold medal game. She is second on the all-time scoring list for the OWIAA (Ontario university hockey) and has the second highest total points in a single season (53 points in 15 games). Hunter was forced to retire from the national team because of a hip/groin injury but is currently playing at the highest level in Ontario in the Senior AAA Central Ontario Women's Hockey League. She is very involved in women's in-line hockey; after being the top scorer at all 5 tournaments in which she competed in 1997, she was selected as the 1997 In-Line Hockey News Female Amateur Player of the Year.
