Introduction

The women's hockey web site is the most visited web site on the Internet dedicated to women's hockey. It is both the largest and oldest web site for women's hockey, and is widely regarded as "absolutely the most comprehensive source of information about women's hockey on the web."

The women's hockey web site was created in the fall of 1994 by former Canadian National Women's hockey team member Andria Hunter (see final page for bio), while she was a graduate student in Computer Science at the University of Toronto. This site, currently maintained by Andria on a volunteer basis, is in the process of being moved from the university server to a permanent home at www.whockey.com.

Over the course of its existence the web pages have grown from a small hobby into a full blown women's hockey web site comprised of over 900 pages. These pages provide valuable and often unique information about all aspects of women's hockey in over 26 countries around the world. Simply keeping the information up to date already requires a substantial amount of time and effort.

In order to devote more time to maintaining and improving these web pages, Andria must now pursue sponsorship. With sponsorship, she will be able to further enhance this valuable web site at a time when the interest in women's hockey is growing rapidly. The sponsorship of this women's hockey web site offers you an opportunity to further establish yourself as a leader of the supporters of this mushrooming sport.
