SCARBOROUGH STING Established in 1978 National Women's Hockey League The Scarborough Sting is currently accepting applications for a Head Coach and Assistant Coach (2 positions) for the 2000-2001 season. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to teach and guide elite level female adult athletes to success in the National Women's Hockey League. Your passion for the game of hockey is a high priority in your daily activities. Your dedication and commitment to build and promote the goals and values of the team will ensure the growth and success of the organization. Your experience will enable you to develop and implement a seasonal plan. Your media relations skills enable you to act professionally under any circumstance and your negotiation and diplomacy skills allow you to treat all members of the team in a professional manner. You have a proven ability to collaborate and participate effectively within a team environment. Qualifications: Coach level Intermediate, Advanced Level one preferred Physical and Health Education degree or acceptable equivalent education and experience 5-7 years experience coaching elite level hockey, elite women's hockey an asset Other: Excellent organizational skills, media relations skills, knowledge of the National Women's Hockey League and Junior programs in the OWHA, First aid and CPR Additional information: The NWHL schedule is 50-65 games beginning in September through to April. Practices are 2-3 times a week 2 hours per. Travel to Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver is required. Training camps scheduled for June and August. Stipend commensurate with sponsorship.
