Biography of guest lecturer: About Laura Robinson Laura Robinson is a freelance journalist whose work on sport and gender issues has appeared nationally, in magazines and newspapers and on television and radio. She is the author of "She Shoots, She Scores: Canadian Perspectives on Women in Sports" and "Crossing the Line: Sexual Assault in Canada's National Sport". In 1996 she worked with the CBC's Fifth Estate to produce the documentary "Thin Ice", which looked at initiations and sexual abuse in junior hockey. When it aired, the program had a record 1.4 million viewers. Robinson has competed on a national level in cycling ad Nordic skiing, and it is a love of sports that led to her career in journalism.
