AEROS HOST FUNCTION TO SEND TEAM CANADA FAMILIES TO NAGANO!

Fun Raising Dinner, Silent Auction, and Donation Drive to help parents
of Ontario Women go to Olympics.

North York, January 2nd, 1998:  The North York Aeros and the Team
Canada Parent Fundraising Committee- Ontario are working diligently in
order to help provide funding for the families of the Ontario Women on
Team Canada for the 1998 Nagano Olympics, so that they might be able to
attend this once in a lifetime spectacle with their daughters.

"We are hoping to assist these Parents who are facing an enormous
financial burden, due to the costs of travel to, and accommodation i
Nagano, Japan."  Stated Colin MacKenzie, General Manager of the North
York Aeros.  The cost of this experience will amount to over $15,000
Canadian per parent, and that does not include attendance at Opening or
Closing ceremonies.  "The parents of these women obviously cannot go to
Nagano unless we as supporters, fans and friends of Women's Hockey step
forward with some financial assistance" adds Maria Quinto, who is
helping organize the efforts of this group.

The Parents themselves have been working very hard to raise funding on
their own by selling Calendars, running silent auctions, and holding
"Autograph sessions" with their daughters.

There are three levels of participation for supporters to 
participate in:

     * A fundraising dinner and silent auction will be held on Sat.
       Jan. 24th at 7:00 pm at "The Stadium" at 8201 Weston Road in
       Woodbridge.  Tickets are available at a cost of $125 per plate.
       The cost include dinner, wine, silent auction, and a
       commemorative print signed by Team Canada members Lesley
       Reddon, Becky Kellar, Laura Schuler, Vicky Sunohara, Cassie
       Campbell, and Geraldine Heaney.  One hundred dollars from each
       ticket will go towards the parents.  Tables of 8 are available 
       for $1000.  We also expect some special guests and celebrities
       to be in attendance.

     * Supporters may also donate silent auction items for the 
       evening, where all of the funds go directly to the parents'
       Nagano trip.

     * The committee will also accept any cash donation towards this
       cause, and with any donation over $5 will be provided with an
       autographed hockey card of Geraldine Heaney, Cassie Campbell,
       or Vicky Sunohara.
