I don't know too many details about this misfortune. I just know that she was promoting women's hockey for the OWHA (Ontario Women's Hockey Association) at a hockey camp in Northern Ontario. She suddenly became very sick and they had to take her to the hospital. She and the 3 month old child which she was carrying passed away within a day. She apparently had some kind of a brain virus, but they'll know better after the autopsy has been confirmed. It's very sad, as she leaves behind a husband and a young child. Three women on my hockey team went to her funeral. It was very emotional for everyone because she really was a great person. She was buried wearing her Team Canada shirt and with her gold medal around her neck. Andria Hunter
