Motor City Blad As I receive the official stats for the week, I will continue to post information. If you have any questions about the Championships, please contact me, Tamara McKernan - Canadian Women's Coordinator for the NIHA. Oh and by the way, Manon Rheame played forward with the San Jose Renegades - last year's defending champions for the women's division. In 100 degree heat, Team Steam was undefeated in their preliminary round robin, including a 6 - 0 win over Manon Rheaume and the San Jose Renegades. They suffered only one loss, at the hands of the eventual Gold Medal winners, the Black Widows of California. They played for their National pride, winning the Bronze, in a dramatic 2 - 1 showdown against another team from the Vancouver area. Deep thanks to the Team's sponsors, and to Barry Atchison for guiding the team through the tournement. Tournament Quoteable : "The first game was the hardest, because it was hot and we played outside. We also played a very good team (Vancouver SteamRollers)." - Manon Rheaume, World Famous Professional Goalie Hockeytalk Magazine ------------------------------
