1994-95 Season

The league structure of the teams in the Swiss women's leagues underwent a realignment at the end of the 1994-95 season. There are now three women's leagues in Switzerland. There is an A Division which has 6 teams that compete for the Swiss National Championship. There is also a B Division which has 6 teams. The third and lowest division, C, is split into 3 groups of teams, based on geographical location. This organization is new for the 1995-96 season. Previously there were two divisions (A and B), of which the B division was split into 4 groups.

Due to these new changes in the structure of the Swiss leagues, in the B Division there were a lot of qualifying games after the 94-95 regular season. They were played according to the following procedures:

The two bottom teams of A Division move down to Division B.

   Play-off Eastern Groups (1A + 1B):
     1. of Group 1 A : 1. of Group 1 B  -->  Winner = 1. East / Loser = 2. East

   Qualifying for A Division:
     1. Group 3 (West)      :  1. Group 2 (Central)
     1. Group 2 (Central)   :  1. Group 1 (East)
     1. Group 1 (East)      :  1. Group 3 (West)
   The top team moves to Division A.
   The other two teams are qualified for Division B.

   Qualifying for B Division:
     2. Group 3 (West)      :  2. Group 2 (Central)
     2. Group 2 (Central)   :  2. Group 1 (East)
     2. Group 1 (East)      :  2. Group 3 (West)
   The two top teams are qualified for Division B.
   The bottom team goes to the B2 Division.

   All other teams move also down to B2 Division.
