Christmas 2025

Hi Everyone!

We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2026!

This year, we're celebrating Christmas in the Dominican Republic, so our annual Christmas letter is a bit early! It will be a great way to get back together, to take a break from school and work, and to relax by the ocean! The kids were thrilled to learn that the resort has a water park!

Célia is continuing her studies in biology at Trent University in Peterborough, and she's enjoying some very interesting advanced courses. Last summer, she volunteered at the Daily Break Food Bank and worked at the CNE.

In August, Célia hosted a delicious High Tea, with traditional English hors-d'oeuvres, elegantly served on the fine China set that she had inherited from her grandma Ruth. It was the perfect opportunity to honour this precious heirloom, while thanking those who helped her move the China to her apartment.

As for Rémy, he graduated in June from the Saint-Frère-André (SFA) French-language Catholic high school. He played on the SFA hockey team; they finished first overall during the regular season, and made it to the championship game. He also played for the Warren Park Eagles, and they advanced to the quarter-finals in the playoffs.

Our house has been a little emptier since September, as Rémy headed off to Kingston to pursue his studies at the Smith School of Business at Queen's University. He is really enjoying his program, as well as university life!

In between high school and university, Rémy spent the summer working as a counsellor at Camp Quin-Mo-Lac, while Camille spent two weeks there as a CIT (Counsellor-In-Training). All our kids, as well as Andria, have enjoyed participating in that camp when they were younger. Camille continues to enjoy her sewing lessons, and last summer, she once again attended the Buckhorn Sewing Camp, the same one grandma Ruth used to take her to.

Camille is now in Grade 10, and has been accepted in the Programme spécialisé en arts de Toronto at SFA, for the visual arts. She played hockey for the Mimico Canadiens, plays badminton at SFA, and continues to swim in the Jack of Sports race club. She participated in several swimming competitions, winning a number of medals. This fall, Camille earned her National Lifeguard certificate, and can now work as a lifeguard.

Andria is enjoying both playing hockey and socializing with her team, the Sparks, mainly made up of women from the Peterborough area. They had a fun camping outing at the Sandbanks last summer. A highlight this year was winning the USA Hockey 50+ Tier 1 National Championship in Florida. This season is her first year to play in a women's hockey league in Mimico, with her good buddy Leslie Bosco. Finally, it was a wonderful surprise and honour to learn that Mark Carney, the prime-minister of Canada, had mentioned Andria's name during his speech in Peterborough.

As for Marc, he enjoys his work at Autodesk, and continues his musical hobby. He sings and plays guitar in the choir at Mimico's St-Leo's Parish, participates in the Franc'Open Mic in Toronto, either as a solo artist, or as a member of the duo "Les ampères", and has started playing guitar in the York Region Slow-Fast Jams. Two musical highlights for Marc were participating in the Leahy Music Camp, and playing three of his songs at a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag.

Noël 2025

Bonjour à tous et à toutes,

Nous aimerions tout d'abord vous offrir nos meilleurs vœux pour un très Joyeux Noël, ainsi qu'une Bonne, Heureuse et Sainte Année 2026!

Cette année, nous célébrons Noël en République Dominicaine, alors notre lettre de Noël a un peu d'avance! Ce sera une bonne façon de se retrouver ensemble, de prendre une pause des études et du travail, et de relaxer au bord de l'océan! Les enfants étaient super contents d'apprendre que notre complexe touristique est doté d'un parc aquatique!

Célia poursuit ses études en biologie à l'université Trent, à Peterborough, où elle suit des cours avancés très intéressants. L'été passée, elle s'est portée bénévole à la banque alimentaire Daily Bread Food Bank et a travaillé au CNE (Canadian National Exhibition).

Au mois d'août, Célia avait servi un délicieux High Tea - un thé avec collations à la mode anglaise - servi élégamment dans la vaisselle en porcelaine qu'elle avait héritée de sa grand-maman Ruth. Ce fut une belle occasion de mettre à l'honneur ce précieux souvenir, tout en remerciant les gens qui avaient aidé à transporter la porcelaine chez Célia.

Quant à Rémy, au mois de juin, il a terminé ses études à l'école secondaire catholique Saint-Frère-André (SFA). Il faisait partie de l'équipe de hockey de SFA, qui avait fini en première place lors de la saison régulière, et s'était rendu en finale. Il avait aussi joué pour les Eagles de Warren Park, et l'équipe s'était rendue en quart de finale.

La maison est un peu plus vide depuis le mois de septembre, car Rémy a déménagé à Kingston pour y entamer ses études post-secondaires au Smith School of Business de l'université Queen's. Il aime bien son programme, ainsi que la vie universitaire!

Entre le secondaire et l'université, Rémy avait travaillé en tant que moniteur au Camp Quin-Mo-Lac, et Camille y avait été CIT (moniteur en formation) pour deux semaines. Tous nos enfants, ainsi qu'Andria, avaient par le passé, bien aimé participer à ce camp. Camille aime toujours ses cours de couture, et l'été passé, a de nouveau participé au Buckhorn Sewing Camp, le même où l'apportait sa grand-maman Ruth.

Camille est maintenant en 10e année, et a été accepté au Programme spécialisé en arts de Toronto à SFA, en arts visuels. Côté sports, elle a joué au hockey avec les Canadiens de Mimico, joue au badminton à SFA, et continue de faire de la natation avec le club Jack of Sports. Elle a d'ailleurs participé à plusieurs compétitions, où elle a remporté de nombreuses médailles. Cet automne, Camille a complété son certificat de National Lifeguard, et peux maintenant travailler comme maitre-nageuse.

Andria aime bien jouer au hockey et passer du temps avec ses coéquipières des Sparks, une équipe composée de joueuse de la région de Peterborough. Cet été, elles ont eu du plaisir à faire du camping au Sandbanks. Un fait saillant cette année fut de remporté le USA Hockey 50+ Tier 1 National Championship en Floride. Andria en est à sa première saison à jouer dans une ligue féminine à Mimico, avec sa bonne amie Leslie Bosco. Ce fut aussi pour elle une belle surprise et un grand honneur d'apprendre que Mark Carney, premier ministre du Canada, avait mentionné le nom d'Andria lors d'un discours prononcé à Peterborough.

Marc lui, aime bien son travail chez Autodesk, et continue de faire de la musique. Il chante et joue de la guitare avec la chorale de la paroisse St-Leo à Mimico, participe au Franc'Open Mic de Toronto, soit solo, ou soit avec le duo " Les ampères ", et a commencé à jouer de la guitare avec le York Region Slow-Fast Jams. Deux faits saillants musicaux pour Marc furent de participer au Leahy Music Camp, et de jouer trois de ses chansons lors de célébrations du 50e anniversaire du drapeau franco-ontarien.
